WHAT KIND OF A CHRISTIAN ARE YOU? ARE YOU A WISE OR FOOLISH VIRGIN? - BY SUSAN DAVIS

Not all Christians are alike—some have full oil lamps and some without… If you have ever wondered about the difference between the virgins with half-full oil lamps and full oil lamps here are some examples: Matthew 25:4 (KJV) But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Lukewarm Christian (Rev. 3:16) 
Full Oil Lamp--Bride of CHRIST (Eph. 5:27)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Never pursued baptism of HOLY SPIRIT (Matt. 25:3) 
Full Oil Lamp--Pursues baptism of HOLY SPIRIT (Matt. 25:4)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Bible hard to read/stay with (Rev. 3:18) 
Full Oil Lamp--Bible comes to life through HOLY SPIRIT eye salve (Rev. 3:18)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Has a form of godliness but denies the power thereof (2 Tim. 3:5)
Full Oil Lamp--Evidence of the SPIRIT within the person: Spiritual gifts (Acts 19:6)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Follows traditions of men (Gal. 1:14) 
Full Oil Lamp--Follows the teaching of the HOLY SPIRIT (1 Cor. 2:13)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Seeks self will (or enemy’s will) (John 8:44) 
Full Oil Lamp--Fully in the Will of GOD (John 5:30)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Not interested in the LORD’s Return (2 Peter 3:4)
Full Oil Lamp--Watching, waiting, excited for the LORD’s return (2 Tim. 4:8)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Interested in works—approval of others (Matt. 23:5) 
Full Oil Lamp--Understands salvation is a free gift you can’t work for (Eph. 2:8-9)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Works FOR salvation (Matt. 7:22-23)
Full Oil Lamp--Works BECAUSE OF salvation (Romans 7:4)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Fights sin unsuccessfully with the flesh and frustration (Gal. 6:8)
Full Oil Lamp--Fights sin successfully by the Power of the HOLY SPIRIT (Gal. 5:24)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Attends a lukewarm church (1 Cor. 2:14)
Full Oil Lamp--Attends churches that welcome the move of the HOLY SPIRIT (1 Cor. 2:10)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Christianity is about religion (Isaiah 29:13)
Full Oil Lamp--Christianity is about relationship (Matt. 7:23)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Seeks GOD once or twice a week at church (Matt. 7:23)
Full Oil Lamp--Walks with GOD everyday as constant companions (James 4:8)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Prays only when crisis comes up (Psalms 78:42) 
Full Oil Lamp--Prays everyday—throughout the day (1 Thess. 5:17)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Embarrassed by/indifferent to outreach (Mark 8:38) 
Full Oil Lamp--Can’t stop talking about GOD to others (Psalms 34:2)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Seeks the world for answers (Isaiah 31:1)
Full Oil Lamp--Seeks GOD for answers (Psalms 20:7)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Thinks talk of “hell” is too harsh (2 Tim. 4:3)
Full Oil Lamp--Thinks talk of “hell” is necessary (Matt. 18:9)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Makes many future plans (James 4:13-14)
Full Oil Lamp--Knows GOD holds the future (Rev. 1:8)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Uncomfortable with the “supernatural” (2 Tim. 3:5)
Full Oil Lamp--Comfortable that GOD IS “supernatural” (Acts 2:17)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Enjoys secular TV/Music/Movies (Rev. 3:17)
Full Oil Lamp--Hates secular TV/Music/Movies (1 John 2:15)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Trusts in 401ks; bank accounts (Rev. 3:17)
Full Oil Lamp--Trusts in GOD, period (Job 13:15)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Anxious about future (Judges 6:10)
Full Oil Lamp--Lives in peace and calm despite the calamity around (Phil. 4:7)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Seeks worldly knowledge (2 Tim. 3:7)
Full Oil Lamp--Understands childlike faith (Matt. 18:4)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Cares what people think (1 Cor. 2:13)
Full Oil Lamp--Cares what GOD thinks (1 Cor. 2:12)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Thinks we will be here many more years (1 Peter 3:4)
Full Oil Lamp--Knows the signs in the bible line up with the times now (Matt. 24:33-34)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Believes no one knows the day or hour (Luke 12:39)
Full Oil Lamp--Believes THAT BECAUSE no one knows the day or hour THEY NEED TO WATCH! (Matt. 24:42)
