Characteristics of the Lukewarm Church by Susan Davis

Characteristics of the Lukewarm Church:
The lukewarm church will NOT discuss the following points, clearly in the Bible and spoken of frequently in the Bible:
1.) REPENTENCE
The lukewarm won’t talk about repentance because it’s too harsh. (This goes in line with the false teaching and doctrine of once saved always saved OSAS that says: if you accept CHRIST at a Billy Graham conference or church in your past than ignore CHRIST for 30 years, on the day you die—you are “good to go” because you took care of business 30 years ago.) Repentance needs to be daily because we continue to find things out about ourselves against the Bible that we are out of GOD’s Will on—so until we are with GOD we need repentance—never are we not in need of repentance.
Matthew 4:17 (KJV): From that time JESUS began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.
2.) BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The lukewarm only will talk about water baptism—but there are two baptisms: John’s water baptism (performed by a man) and CHRIST’s Baptism WHO was resurrected to baptize in FIRE with the HOLY SPIRIT (performed by GOD HIMSELF).
Matthew 3:11 (KJV): I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but HE that cometh after me is mightier than I, WHOSE Shoes I am not worthy to bear: HE shall baptize you with The HOLY GHOST, and with FIRE:
3.) DELIVERANCE
JESUS was all about deliverance. In fact, about one third of HIS Ministry on earth was about delivering people from tormenting spirits including children and Mary Magdalene. The lukewarm totally eliminate talk of such things from their pulpits and leave their people defenseless against a lethal foe.
Mark 9:25 (KJV): When JESUS saw that the people came running together, HE rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
4.) SPIRITUAL GIFTINGS FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT
The lukewarm want nothing of the “move” of The HOLY SPIRIT WHO brings with HIM evidence of other languages, healing testimonies, understanding of HIS Word by the comparing of a SPIRITUAL thing to a SPIRITUAL thing versus the teachings and traditions of men. Instead, the lukewarm persecute those who receive such gifts and blaspheme the HOLY SPIRIT. They don’t seem to grasp that you can’t have CHRIST without the HOLY SPIRIT…
1 Corinthians 2:13 (KJV): Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the HOLY GHOST teacheth; comparing Spiritual things with Spiritual.
5.) END TIMES TEACHINGS
The lukewarm will go the long way around to avoid talk of “end times.” Why? Because being “rapture ready” puts people on the edge of their seats, watching and longing for CHRIST and the lukewarm church sends the people back focused on the world, so that when people die or when the rapture comes they are not ready to give a proper account for their life to GOD. They believe the lie that CHRIST isn’t coming back for another 30 years or beyond because they have twisted scripture or completely deleted it from their teachings. They have overlooked the part that says: when you see these things come to pass…The love of the world is their god.
Luke 21:28 (KJV): And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
2 Timothy 4:8 (KJV): Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the LORD, The Righteous JUDGE, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love HIS appearing.
6.) INTIMACY WITH GOD
Do you remember when someone at school would really pursue the grade in the class and all the other kids would be angry because it changed the grading curve? Well that’s the way the lukewarm church is toward others who want “intimacy with GOD.” Although the Bible is clear on this: Love the LORD with all your heart, mind, strength, and soul. The lukewarm church wants to shut down, down play, people who “pursue GOD with all their heart” because it is throwing off their curve with their pursuit of the world and what it stands for. But you can’t have both: you either love the world and what it stands for or you love GOD. But you don’t get both…
Matthew 22:36-38 (KJV): MASTER, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 JESUS said unto him, Thou shalt love the LORD thy GOD with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment.
James 4:4 (KJV): Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with GOD? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of GOD.
