DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE RAPTURE AND THE SECOND COMING - BY SUSAN DAVIS 24TH NOVEMBER 2013

Differences Between the Rapture and the Second Coming
1. Rapture: The church will meet Christ in the air: 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (New International Version)
17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Second Coming: The church will return to the earth with Christ: Zechariah 14:4 (New International Version)
4 On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.
2. Rapture: The church will be taken to heaven: 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (New International Version)
17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
John 14:1-3 (New International Version)
John 14
Jesus Comforts His Disciples
1"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Second Coming: The Church will return to the earth from heaven: Jude 1:14 (New International Version)
14Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones
3. Rapture: Christ will come for HIS saints: 2 Thessalonians 2:1:
1Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers,
Second Coming: Christ will come with HIS saints:
Revelation 19:14 (New International Version)
14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
4. Rapture: Christ Himself will gather His saints: 1 Thessalonians 4:16 (New International Version)
16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Second Coming: The angels will gather the elect:
Matthew 24:31 (New International Version)
31And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
5. Rapture: Believers will be caught up out from among unbelievers: 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (New International Version)
16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Second Coming: Unbelievers (tares) will be gathered out first: Matthew 13:41-43 (New International Version)
41The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.
6. Rapture: Satan will not be bound: Revelation 13:2 (New International Version)
The Beast out of the Sea
And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.
Second Coming: Satan will be bound: Revelation 20:3 (New International Version)
3He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.
7. Rapture: The Righteous will be removed: 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (New International Version)
17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Second Coming: The wicked will be removed: Matthew 25:40-41 (New International Version)
40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
