IDENTIFYING
TRAITS OF HEAVEN-BOUND CHRISTIANS
ONLY
GOD KNOWS THOSE WHO WILL MAKE HEAVEN. THEREFORE HE SAYS WE SHOULD JUDGE NOTHING
BEFORE THE TIME. HOWEVER, THE LORD OPENED THE EYES OF MY SPIRIT TO KNOW THE
CHARACTERISTICS, ATTITUDE, LIFESTYLE AND DISPOSITION OF HEAVEN-BOUND
CHRISTIANS. USE THE CHECKLIST BELOW TO ASSESS HOW HEAVEN-BOUND OR RAPTURE-READY
YOU ARE. THEN GO AND SEEK GOD’S FACE, WHERE YOU HONESTLY KNOW YOU FALL SHORT OF
KINGDOM STANDARD.
HEAVEN-BOUND
& RAPTURE-READY CHRISTIANS ARE KNOWN BY THE FOLLOWING TRAITS.
1.
They are sure that the soul of man will live eternally, and that heaven and
hell are real. They know they are strangers in this world; they don’t feel at
home in this world. The best the world has to offer is too small and too worthless
for them. They look for and prayerfully study all materials that reveal the
truths about heaven and hell. They are wise enough to know that anyone who does
not seek to know the truth about heaven and hell will most likely end up in
hell. They don’t play the ostrich, thinking that ignoring or avoiding the talk
about hell will keep them safe; they don’t take the most foolish position that
things will sort themselves out when we get there
2.
They believe that the word of God is true, that God is serious with His Word.
They are consumed with love and passion for God's Word. It's like they can
never have enough of God's Word. They meditate on God's Word day and night, as
scriptures command. They love, receive, meditate on and accept the total Word
of God. They are not selective in their reception of God's Word. This is the
way they demonstrate their love for God, for His ways and for His Kingdom. And
as they meditate daily on God's Word, they are constantly being changed from
glory to glory
3.
They have deep hunger and thirst for God and for the truth. They seek to know
the truth, the heart of God, the ways of God. They have a soft, contrite,
teachable heart. They are prompt to repent and turn away from their sins. They
don't defend, cover up, excuse or deny their sins. They promptly confess and
forsake them. They tremble at the Word and revelations of God and are quick in
responding positively to the Word of God. They have the Nineveh spirit (Jonah
3:5-10). Anyone who is not jolted by God's Word and revelation or who receives
a particular truth or light, and still continues with his or her old life
unchanged, is clearly not ready for heaven
4.
They set a very high spiritual standard for themselves because they are aware
that the standard of God is very high. They don't compare themselves with other
people and feel satisfied that they are at least better than others. The life
of Jesus and the Word of God are their standard
5.
They are not interested in receiving the praise and approval of man. They are
not interested in titles, power, position or human/worldly glory. They are
fully aware that anyone who is seeking the praise, approval and acceptance of
man cannot please God (Gal.1:10. They are not men-pleasers. Men-pleasers love
the praise of men; they do all things to be recognized, accepted, loved,
praised and favoured by men. This is the main cause of worldliness
6.
They are humble; they are not proud. They are easy to be corrected. They love,
seek and embrace the truth even when it rebukes them. They love the people that
God uses to bring the truth to them; they don't hate them. They are dead to
self, dead to their ego. They have a child-like heart and nature. People who
will make heaven are simple, plain, easy to correct, have no resentment in
their spirits against anybody. That's why Jesus says if you don't become like a
child, you cannot make heaven; it is a 'becoming', 'maturation' process
7.
They depend absolutely on the power, grace and love of God to make them holy
and take them to heaven. They know they are vulnerable; they are not
overconfident, but they strongly trust the grace, power and promises of God to
help them to make heaven, while they examine their lives and hearts everyday
8.
They are not hypocritical, deceitful, dishonest, fake and superficial about
their spiritual life. They are honest and real. They don't deceive themselves
9.
They don't misappropriate the grace of God as excuse for sins. They trust the
grace of God not only for the forgiveness of sin but for moral power to
overcome sin and attain holiness. They know that divine grace is not only
unmerited favour but also divine enablement. They don’t misapply the grace of
God as opportunity or excuse to continue in sin
10.
They are free from lust of the flesh and lust of the eye. They run away from
sinful pleasures. They flee all appearance of evil. Where they are morally
weak, they don't give God rest until He totally sets them free and turns their
weakness to strength
11.
They give their money, their time, their all, quietly, with joy and faith,
without seeking the recognition and praise of man. They release all they have
to the control and Lordship of Jesus Christ voluntarily and joyfully
12.
They love the church and Christian fellowship, including church ministry,
church programs and the brethren
13.
They love God with all their hearts. They love to be in God's presence as often
as possible. They serve God with all their hearts, with high level of
faithfulness, commitment and passion. They don't seek to use and dump God.
Rather they totally surrender themselves to be used by God without seeking
earthly rewards
14.
They love to worship, praise and thank God all the time.
15.
They flee every tendency to question, judge or doubt God. Even when there are
things that appear to hard for them to understand, the give God the onus of the
doubt, believing that God cannot be anything but good, loving, faithful, just,
fair and all-knowing. They are aware that we cannot understand everything about
the justice of God now, because the secret things belong to God (Deut.29:29),
because the created cannot question the Creator (Job 40:8-9; Is.45:9), because
now we know in parts (I Cor.13:19-12), and therefore we should not exercise our
minds in too that are too great for us (Ps.131)
16.
They walk in love, seizing every opportunity to care for their fellow men. They
are patient, gentle and forbearing, particularly on issues that concern
themselves and their interests. They seek to grow daily in the fruit of the
spirit. However they are not afraid to say the truth, preach the gospel of
God's love and of salvation through grace. They are not afraid to warn sinners
of the consequences of their sin, even at the cost of being misunderstood,
hated and persecuted
17.
They are praying machines. They cry to God day and night to help them live a
life of holiness and total obedience. They also groan and intercede for those
who are weak, ignorant and bound in sin, that God may open their eyes, set them
free and deliver them. The grace to make heaven is their daily prayer point.
They don't major in minor; they don't focus on success in this world while
paying scant attentions on the issues of eternal salvation. They are thinking
of heaven and hell, thinking of eternity every day. They look at people and
look at things in the context of eternity all the time
18.
What turns them to praying machines are the fearful assertions of scripture
that only few people will be saved, that the righteous will be scarcely saved,
that God is no respecter of persons and that there are firsts that will become
last and last that will become first. They are fully conscious of this hard
fact and therefore press hard to be one of the few
19.
They are spiritually and emotionally strong. They can endure hardness, trials,
and difficult situations. They believe that the Lord is in control and that all
earthly situations are temporary. They also don’t become overwhelmed or
distracted by the joys and successes of this world. They are steadfast and
consistent
20.
They are hardworking, not lazy. They put their strength and wisdom to work to
be successful in the affairs of this life, so that they will not be dependent
on others, so that they will not be exposed to Satan’s attacks and deception as
a result of lack or weakness and so that they may have enough to give to God
and to those in need. But their work or their business do not take their hearts
away from God or from a focus on eternity. They are not majoring in minor; the
centre of their hearts is with God, with ministry and with service to mankind
(I Cor.7:29-31; Ex.12;11)
21.
Like the men of Issachar, they understand the times. They know that this
dispensation of grace will be terminated very soon and that we are in the
injury time of the very last days. They can clearly see that the Antichrist has
taken over the system of this world - particularly the corporate world,
economy, international media, fashion, entertainment, and organized religion.
They can clearly perceive the overwhelming fulfilment of the signs of the end
time all over the world. They are not in darkness; they are in the light. They
are not sleeping; they are awake. They know that Jesus is coming only for those
who have prepared themselves and are eagerly looking forward to His appearing
